MET-APTIC Meetings Autumn 2016

05-10-2016

Exchanging ideas, meeting other language professionals, sharing experiences, catching up with colleagues and spending some well-deserved time away from your desk! That’s what our monthly MET-APTIC Meetings are all about.

The informal networking events organized by the MET and APTIC associations are about to celebrate their 5th anniversary, making this an extra special autumn season. Read on for what we have planned!

Wednesday, October 5, 2016, 7pm – CAT Tradicionàrius, Gràcia
We’ll be meeting at one of our classic venues, CAT Tradicionàrius, in Gràcia. A great chance to catch up after the summer, especially if you missed our MET-APTIC excursion to Barberà de la Conca in September. It’s also a nice way of connecting with other METM participants before the big event. Stay on after the meeting for live folk music at 9pm.

Wednesday, November 2, 2016, 7pm – Espai Capra, Poble Sec
November sees us returning to one of our cold weather favorites: the cozy Espai Capra, a café and bookstore in Poble Sec that makes excellent sandwiches. Perfect for leisurely conversations about our craft.

Friday, November 25, 2016, 7pm – Teatreneu, Gràcia
This season sees a slight scheduling change: our final meeting of the year will take place on Friday, November 25. Why? We have a special guest: Alicia Martorell, who will give a talk on translation, digitalization and the Internet, followed by an open discussion on how these changes have influenced the way we work. Our meeting will take place at the Teatreneu in Gràcia and afterwards we will head out to a local restaurant for dinner. We’ll provide more details soon!
