Mediterranean Editors & Translators Meeting 2015

Versatility and readiness for new challenges

October 29-31
Faculty of Arts and Humanities University of Coimbra
Coimbra, Portugal

Presentation

The annual Mediterranean Editors and Translators Meeting (METM), now in its eleventh year, is an established CPD and networking event – a highlight in the calendar for many editors, translators, interpreters and other providers of English-language support services in the Mediterranean area and beyond. It offers one and a half days of presentations and keynote speeches, two half-days of pre-conference workshops and a program of “off-METM” events at a venue in a Mediterranean country. This year you are invited to join us at a spectacular venue: the World Heritage–listed University of Coimbra, Portugal.

The theme of the 2015 conference, “Versatility and readiness for new challenges”, invites reflection on the steps we can take and the attitudes we can cultivate in order to be able to offer our clients the services they need in today’s rapidly changing environment. See the program.

PRISEAL

METM15 will be held at the Faculty of Arts and Humanities at the University of Coimbra, Portugal. It will share the venue and run partly concurrently with PRISEAL 3, an academic conference focused on issues and challenges for researchers of all disciplines who use English as an additional language. Some of those issues and challenges will be familiar to MET members who work with scientific authors and publishers. MET and the PRISEAL organisers believe there is great potential for mutual benefit and cross-fertilisation of ideas between the two events and so will encourage cross-attendance and networking by offering a special discount to anyone who signs up for both.
