Sponsored training session

upLIFT and term management in Studio 2017

Luca Menozzi, Piacenza, Italy

upLIFT and LookAhead
A fuzzy match is a segment in a source text that is similar to a segment in a translation memory (TM). Traditionally, TM matches have been based on whole segments. In the first half of this session, attendees will learn how to use upLIFT technology to leverage matches based on fragments and repair fuzzy matches drawing on TMs, termbases and machine translation. The trainer will also explain how to enable LookAhead and take advantage of faster access to TM search results.

Term management
Termbases can range from a simple source and target term structure to a complex multilingual terminology database with synonyms, forbidden terms and fields. In the second half of the session, the trainer will show attendees how easy it is to use Glossary Converter and TermExcelerator to convert Excel glossaries into termbases, and Glossary Plugin to create a termbase from scratch.

Who should attend? This training session will be suitable for Studio 2017 users up to intermediate level, and also to users of other CAT tools who wish to learn about the features of Studio 2017. Laptops are not necessary.
