The
MET logo and photographs
In ancient
times, land travel was dangerous,
and the Mediterranean provided an
important route of communication,
allowing trade and the fertile exchange
of ideas between peoples. It is no
coincidence that many of the great
ancient cities were founded beside
the sea. Civilizations rose and fell,
but the sea remained. The MET logo
evokes the Greek amphitheatre, built
of lasting stone, a place where people
could come together. In its own way,
MET also aims to provide a place where
people can share ideas, with the sea
as a constant background.
In
2005 the first meeting used a different
logo that commemorated one of the
first professional meetings to take
place in Europe. Read
more and see the logo.
The photographs
at the top of each page aim to be
representative of the different cultures
of the Mediterranean region. As the
organization expands and new web pages
are added to the site, we will be
needing more photos. If you have photos
that you think would be appropriate
and would like to see published then
please send them to greg.morley@telefonica.net.
We are particularly interested in
photos from outside Europe.
