All who come to METM 07 or to a workshop are also members of the association. We encourage you to come to the General Assembly on the Friday afternoon (after the workshops), so you can participate in the open discussion of our present and future activities. This meeting will be followed by informally arranged dinner groups.

The agenda will include the treasurer’s report, an update on new internal bylaws, and voting on a minor Charter change to enable the scheduling of METM 2008 in September. Other items planned for inclusion in the agenda:

Three projects undertaken in 2006 and 2007:

  • Validation of a questionnaire for monitoring member needs and interests in continuing professional development (Anne Murray, Ailish Maher)
  • Ongoing development of target-language engineering corpora with the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (Alan Lounds)
  • Report on the piloting of a model revision-and-review protocol (reflecting European translation standard EN 15083) for translation of MET’s Charter from Catalan to English, with presentation of the final translation (Ailish Maher, Irwin Temkin, Mary Savage and their team)
