Once
again, the METM 06 program
blends communications theory and practice
in a variety of specialized knowledge
fields in which Euro-Mediterranean
professionals and institutions must
use English to communicate. Two plenary
addresses feature Chris
Durban on approaches to help freelancers
capture premium clients and Miguel
Roig on issues of scientific plagiarism.
Five training workshops will introduce
MET's new workshop program, including
two by last year's plenary speakers:
Ana
Marušic and Joy
Burrough-Boenisch.
Panel
discussions, shorter workshops and
presentations make up a complete program
that also includes many opportunities
for networking.
Who
should attend? Editors
of English for Mediterranean clients.
Translators from Mediterranean languages
into English. Journal editors. Academic
writing and English for specific purposes
instructors. Coaches of oral communication
in the professions.

by the governing council of the newly
registered not-for-profit association
