Mediterranean Editors’ and Translators’ Meeting 2006

International Communication—Promising Practices
27-28 October 2006, Institut Europeu de la Mediterrània, Carrer Girona 20, 08010 Barcelona, Spain

Once again, the METM 06 program blends communications theory and practice in a variety of specialized knowledge fields in which Euro-Mediterranean professionals and institutions must use English to communicate. Two plenary addresses feature Chris Durban on approaches to help freelancers capture premium clients and Miguel Roig on issues of scientific plagiarism. Five training workshops will introduce MET's new workshop program, including two by last year's plenary speakers: Ana Marušic and Joy Burrough-Boenisch.

Panel discussions, shorter workshops and presentations make up a complete program that also includes many opportunities for networking.

Who should attend?
Editors of English for Mediterranean clients. Translators from Mediterranean languages into English. Journal editors. Academic writing and English for specific purposes instructors. Coaches of oral communication in the professions.
