METM18 update: theme and keynote speakers confirmed

18-12-2017

We are pleased to announce that the theme of METM18 is:

Giving credit where credit's due: recognition for authors, translators and editors

Joining us in Girona will be keynote speakers Daniel Hahn and Miguel Roig.

Daniel is an award-winning writer, editor and translator of Portuguese, Spanish and French. At home in the UK Daniel works hard to raise the profile of translators and translation, notably funding a new prize for a debut literary translation using his winnings from the International Dublin Literary Award, which he won with author José Eduardo Agualusa.

Miguel is a professor of psychology at St. John’s University in New York. His research focuses on the problem of plagiarism and other forms of unethical writing in the sciences and elsewhere. Miguel is making a welcome return to MET 12 years after his first keynote talk in Barcelona in 2006. We are delighted to have him back.
