The university of the knowledge society

The UOC is a university that has emerged from the knowledge society whose mission is to provide people with lifelong learning.

The primary aim of the UOC is that every individual should be able to satisfy their learning needs with as much access to knowledge as possible. Given this aim, the University makes intensive use of information and communication technologies (ICT) and offers an educational model based on personalisation and constant support for the student, and the overcoming of the barriers of time and space.

The UOC looks to provide people with training and contribute to their progress and the progress of society by fostering specialist research into the knowledge society and establishing alliances with universities and institutions around the world that share aims and values for the construction of a global knowledge space.
