Academic Translation and Editing
I specialise in academic texts, particularly in my own fields of history, music and theology. I studied French, music and theology at undergraduate level, and I also have an MA in English cathedral music and liturgy, as well as a post-graduate diploma in translation. I translate from French and also edit non-native English written by academics. Projects have included editing a PhD thesis on early 20th-century colonialism and translating a scholarly article on the history of sexuality for publication.
I regularly translate a variety of general tourism texts, but I particularly enjoy translating for museums and places of historic interest. Projects have included translating and recording the text for the audio guide to a church.
I also write texts on Christian themes for worship and reflection. As a Reader in the diocese of St Albans, I preach regularly and have a thorough grounding in Biblical exegesis and current scholarly research. Some of my reflections and sermon notes have been published by Redemptorist Publications and my first foray into hymn writing was published by Jubilate.
