Sea of Words literary contest 2010
Young writers (<30 years of age) can enter a short story or narrative for the third (2010) edition of the very successful Sea of Words literary contest — organized by the Spanish Network of the Anna Lindh Foundation (ALF) for Dialog between Cultures. This is a chance for some of our creative young translators or translators-in-training. Some of MET's older members might want to alert younger friends or students who will take an interest in this chance at publication. Last year, Peter Bush addressed the winners, telling them how translators worked and implying how they should go about encouraging good translations of their work. The quality of winning stories and the attentiveness of the young writers were admirable.
Deadline: 15 September 2010.
2010 Theme: Justice, equality and inclusion in the Mediterranean and in Europe. Entries can be in any language of the 43 countries that have ALF networks. All contributions that win at the level of national networks are published in a trilingual volume (English, French and the original language). For further information, visit the website.
