I provide professional translation and editing services:

• Translation of French and Spanish texts into English (FR / ES > EN)
• Editing and proofreading of English texts (primarily academic)

I translate written material from French and Spanish into English, and I edit and revise texts written by non-native speakers of English. I work primarily in the social sciences.

I analyse the register and style of your text before crafting a new English-speaking version for your target audience. Your message is communicated faithfully but also with cultural sensitivity. You are able to connect with your readers in an appropriate tone that reflects your organisation’s values. Translation is no longer an afterthought, but rather a vital part of your communications strategy.

I am extremely meticulous in my work, taking great care over each text and translating solely into my mother tongue (English).

I pride myself on the excellent professional relationship I have developed with my regular clients, most of whom have approached me through word-of-mouth. Over the past 15 years I have worked chiefly with academics and researchers from universities, research institutes and NGOs in France and Spain.

Text types:

Reports; research papers and articles for publication; website content; marketing and communications; conference presentations; PhD dissertations; research proposals; cover letters and academic references.

Qualifications:

BA Hons French and Spanish (First class honours)  - University of Manchester, 1999

MA in Interpreting and Translating - University of Bath, 2006
