Getting to Donostia/San Sebastián

By train

From Spain

San Sebastián has good rail connections to Madrid, Barcelona, Zaragoza and Portugal (see the Renfe site for tickets and timetables). From the central train station, you can get a taxi (10 minutes) or bus (20 minutes; lines 24 and 45) to the venue.

From or via France

Travel to Hendaye on the SNCF network. From Hendaye station, follow the signs to local train connections (Euskotren/Topo). Trains going to Lasarte will take you to the city centre (Donostia/San Sebastián-Amara station). From there you can walk to the venue (25 minutes) or take a taxi (10 minutes).

By coach

San Sebastián is easy to get to by coach, with connections to more than 20 cities in Spain (see local coach companies Alsa and Pesa) as well as international connections, mainly with France (see Flixbus and BlaBlaCar for travel throughout Europe). The main bus and train stations are in the same place; see the instructions above about getting to the venue.

By car

San Sebastián is easily accessed by road. The venue has reasonable on-street parking; if you stay in a more central location, parking near your hotel will be expensive.

By air

Three airports serve San Sebastián: Bilbao (BIO), San Sebastián (EAS) and Biarritz (BIQ). All connect to the city centre via coach (1 hour from BIO, 25 minutes from EAS and 45 minutes from BIQ (see Alsa or BlaBlaCar)).

By ferry from the UK or Ireland

Ferries sail from Portsmouth to Santander all year, and you can travel on to San Sebastián by coach. There are other limited crossings from Plymouth to Santander and Portsmouth to Bilbao. From Ireland, there are limited crossings between Rosslare and Bilbao.
