Language and Terminology Service (SLT) - Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya

The Language and Terminology Service (SLT) has provided language support to the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC) since 1977. It is the unit responsible for planning and managing the use and quality of languages at this university. It offers training in language and communication skills and facilitates the production of texts in all languages by providing services and resources related to translation, editing, writing and terminology. It also works in the linguistic and cultural reception of mobility students and carries out activities that promote multilingualism and interculturality, in line with the objectives of the European Higher Education Area and of a Catalan university with an international vocation.

The SLT’s Language Advisory Unit provides a translation and correction service for academic and institutional documents, and edits research texts in the fields of higher education, architecture, health sciences, economics, aeronautics, agricultural engineering, civil engineering, industrial engineering, information science and telecommunications. It has a small group of in-house translators/editors and employs a large number of freelancers.
