I began my studies with a B.A. in English Literature and History, later specialising in literature with an M.A. in Literature and Publishing.  Then, after completing an M.A. in Film Studies I began working in video production in San Francisco, USA. On returning to Ireland I worked as an English teacher in secondary education before moving to Spain to continue as an English language teacher (Madrid and Barcelona). After this time, I returned to the audiovisual world to work as an assistant executive producer for cinema and television. With literature always on my mind I opened my own business in 2012: a multilingual bookshop.  I managed the business successfully for six years before moving on to work exclusively as a translator and writer. I have worked on projects in film production, yoga, culture, fashion and science. I presently do both freelance translations and I work part-time at the Universitat Internacional de Catalunya in Barcelona.
