The annual Mediterranean Editors and Translators Meeting (METM), now in its 20th year, is an established CPD and networking event – a highlight in the calendar for many editors, translators, interpreters and other providers of English-language support services in the Mediterranean area and beyond. It offers one and a half days of presentations and keynote speeches, two half days of pre-conference workshops, and a programme of “off-METM” events.
The 2024 meeting will be held in Carcassonne, a medieval fortified town in the Languedoc region of Occitania that was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1997. The venue is a modern purpose-built convention centre tucked in among the ancient fortifications of the Cathar knights. Below the ramparts, the Barbacane and Bastide quarters, surrounded by the leafy banks of the Canal du Midi and the River Aude, bustle with shops, cafés and day-to-day French life.
