Barcelona workshop day

MET returns to the IEMed in Barcelona on Friday, 19 April 2024 for a day of peer-led workshops. The IEMed is a special place, as it was the venue for the first-ever METM.

Attendees can choose from four sessions held in parallel format: two in the morning and two in the afternoon.

• Translation theory for the pathologically practical, by Helen Oclee-Brown
   
• Audiovisual translation: a skills-based introduction to an interdiscipline, by Ralph Pacinotti
   
• Statistics for editors and translators, by Valerie Matarese
   
• Grammar pathway bonanza comprising two minisessions:
  • Parsing the parts of our speech: filling the gaps in our  understanding of syntax, by John Bates 
  • Tagging along: dangling participles, adverbial disjuncts and other hangers-on, by Irwin Temkin
