MET member survey "How is MET doing?"

05-02-2026

In November 2025 we ran part one of a survey among MET members asking how are you doing? and summarized the results in this news item.

In December we launched part two of the survey, asking how MET is doing. This part was completed by 173 of a total of 511 members.

Most respondents (92%) had been a MET member for two years or longer.

Over the past two years, respondents had taken part in a wide range of MET activities, with more than half attending at least one MET Conversation. Annual conference survey items showed that 43% and 47% of respondents went to METM24 and METM25, respectively, and 57% said they would probably or definitely attend METM26. The main reasons for not attending METM25 were overall cost and personal circumstances.

The survey had two questions about communication with members. Most respondents (82%) said it was quite easy to find information on MET’s website and almost all (96%) said they received the right amount of information through newsletters and emails.

When asked specifically about key aspects of MET – in-person and online training, networking, governance, value for money – respondents graded all these aspects positively, but were most satisfied with MET’s value for money.

The final question, How are we doing overall?, elicited an average 4.53 stars out of 5.

Council has combed through all the comments and will be adapting its plans for 2026 and beyond accordingly. Some key decisions were shared in the January 2026 newsletter.
