METM19 keynote speakers confirmed

We are delighted to announce that Lane Greene and David Jemielity will be our keynote speakers at METM19.

Journalist, editor and author, Lane is best known as the language columnist and an editor at The Economist. He is also the author of two books that adorn many a linguist’s bookshelves: You Are What You Speak (2011) and Talk on the Wild Side (2018). A true polyglot, Lane speaks nine languages.

Translator and communications expert, Dave actively raises the profile of translation in his role as Senior English Translator and Head of Translations at Banque Cantonale Vaudoise (BCV) in Lausanne, Switzerland. Besides his wide-ranging work at BCV, Dave is a tenured faculty member of the University of Geneva’s Faculty of Translation and Interpretation.
