Online workshop: Abstracts and introductions

If you are an editor or translator who works with research articles, this workshop will help you explore the concept of genre analysis and how it applies to abstracts and introductions.

In this practical and interactive online workshop, facilitator Alan Lounds will guide participants as they gain greater knowledge of the conventions for these key components, with special emphasis on the use of standard “moves” and “steps” that conform to readers’ expectations. Knowledge of these conventions will allow language facilitators to identify anomalies that might reduce an author’s possibilities of success with readers.
