Red Vértice meeting, 15-16 September 2017

18-09-2017

Red Vértice is an umbrella network for associations of translators, interpreters and editors with a presence in Spain. Members share opinions, developments and best practices, and mutually promote each other’s activities and events.
The 9th Red Vértice annual meeting was hosted by UniCo (Unión de Correctores) and IAPTI (International Association of Professional Translators and Interpreters) in Barcelona last weekend. The pre-meeting sessions were open to everyone, with Pilar Comín presenting UniCo's Decálogo para encargar una corrección, followed by a round table on medical translation organised by Tremédica.

MET was represented by chair Anne Murray and webmaster Emma Goldsmith. They joined in lively discussions on a variety of issues, including strategies for streamlining the functioning of Red Vértice and promoting its activities in Spain and abroad, the ethics of crowdsourcing for post-editing tasks, and mutually beneficial relations between student and professional associations.
