Toronto’s Aga Kahn Museum in Barcelona13-10-2009The CaixaFòrum Museum’s Barcelona branch is hosting “Worlds of Islam” — an exhibition that has just finished a run in Madrid. The show has 190 works from a variety of Islamic cultures in a collection of nonreligious as well as religious art. There is no entrance fee to this museum and there is a pleasant restaurant for lunch. Dates: Until 17 January 2010 Address: Av. Marquès de Comillas, 6-8. This address is near Plaça Espanya, on metro lines 1 and 3. The bus to the airport also stops at this square. The museum building is also of interest, as it is a good example of Catalan Art Nouveau architecture, by architect Puig i Cadafalch. |
