It was written by Miguel Rodrigues Lourenço, Susana Bastos Mateus and Carla Vieira in 2018. The book is a critical edition of the documents relating to the trial of Catarina de Orta by the Goa Inquisition, which took place in 1569, and sheds light on the workings of the Goa Inquisition (1560-1812), the social world of New Christians in Goa and what everyday life for women was like in 16th-century Goa and Lisbon. |
