Getting around Perugia
Check out the venue floor plan and our pinned map for all key METM26 locations (coming soon).
Walking
The best way to explore the town centre is on foot, so pack comfortable shoes.
It takes about 15 minutes to walk uphill from the conference venue to the old town. The route has some steps and steeper sections.Minimetrò
The Minimetrò is an easy way to travel between the conference venue (stop: Case Bruciate) and the town centre (stop: Cupa, for Via dei Priori, or Pincetto, for the S. Ercolano steps).
The Case Bruciate stop is a gentle 10-minute walk downhill from the venue.
Buy a UP (Unico Perugia) ticket (see the Tickets section below) or tap your bank card or smartphone. Remember to use the same card to tap in and tap out. You can’t use the same card for more than one person.
The Minimetrò runs every 2.5 minutes.Bus
Line TS connects the conference centre to Piazza Italia (the main bus stop in the old town) in 14 minutes. Line C takes you to Piazza Cavallotti (behind Piazza IV Novembre, closer to the university area) in 16 minutes. Buses run every 20 minutes.Tickets
UP (Unico Perugia) tickets are valid on buses and the Minimetrò.
A single-trip ticket costs €1.50 (€2.00 if bought on board) and must be validated on board.
A 10-trip ticket costs €12.90 and can be used by multiple passengers (validate the ticket once for each passenger).
You can buy tickets at Minimetrò stations and newsagents (look out for “Tabaccheria” or “Tabacchi”, which have a big, white “T” sign).Bike
A bike-sharing service is available through the Weelo app. The service is available 24/7.Taxi
Use the InTaxi app to call a taxi from anywhere in Perugia. Taxis operate 24/7. At the time of writing, a taxi ride between the conference venue and the town centre costs about €10-12 (prices may be slightly higher at night).
