What do I need to know as a first-timer?
The conference fee includes:
- all presentations, panels and plenary sessions
- coffee breaks on Friday afternoon and Saturday
- lunch and dinner on Saturday
- some off-METM activities
- off-METM meals (see FAQ below)
- guided tours
- pre-conference workshops
Yes. Workshops must be booked beforehand and are not included in the standard conference fee. To secure your spot, sign up when registering for the main conference. To switch or add on a workshop later (subject to availability), contact our CPD Chair.
No. Simply turn up at any session that interests you. This includes all talks, panels and plenary sessions on Friday afternoon and Saturday.
Off-METM meals are themed dinner groups, led by a host who has chosen the topic, where attendees can connect in a more relaxed setting. Unless otherwise specified, most tables are for six people.
Sign-ups for all fringe activities, including off-METM meals, generally open mid-June, and are managed in My METM (see below). We’ll email all registered attendees when the time comes.
Your table host will contact you shortly before the conference with the restaurant name and booking time. Simply turn up on the day and split the bill with your fellow diners.
My METM is a dedicated section on our website where attendees can organize their conference experience. You must be registered for the conference and signed in to see it.
Use My METM to:
- view your workshop sign-ups
- tell us about your dietary requirements
- add or remove optional activities (off-METM meals, guided tours, yoga)
- edit your badge text
- see last-minute news
At METM26, the following activities require a sign-up (those marked with an asterisk* are not included in the conference ticket):
- city tour*
- Morlacchi theatre tour*
- off-METM meals*
- chair yoga
This is a place where attendees can showcase their work during the conference. You’ll find it by the registration desk. Bring along a book, a journal article, your portfolio – all formats are welcome – with a business card attached. Leave your samples on the table and we'll add a MET Show & Share bookmark to keep them safe.
The best way is to join our private LinkedIn group for METM26 attendees. Use this group to swap plans, find a travel buddy, arrange shared meals or accommodation, get information about Perugia, or simply ask questions before the event.
You’ll find the link in your registration confirmation email.
We also publish a list of registered attendees (not including emails) on the MET website, visible to attendees only, so you can see who is coming.
And don’t forget, MET members can attend our regular online Conversations and Book Club sessions – a great way to put faces to names.
