Getting to Split

Split has an international airport just 20 km from the city centre. The airports of Zadar and Zagreb are about 150 and 400 km away, respectively. Croatian cities are well connected by bus. Travelling by train is another option.

Transferring from Split airport to the city centre

A shuttle bus service takes you from Split airport to the main bus station (Autobusni kolodvor) in 30 minutes and costs kn30 (about €4)* for a one-way ticket. The bus station is right by the port and close to the old quarters, so it may well be within walking distance of your hotel.

A taxi from the airport into town takes 25 to 40 minutes and costs about kn300 (€40). Be sure to ask the taxi driver for an approximate price before you set off and let them know that you will want a receipt at the end of your journey.

Getting to and from the university campus

(Note that we will be at the School of Humanities and Social Sciences for our pre-conference workshops and at the School of Medicine for the conference proper.)

The number 17 bus will drop you by the School of Medicine and buses 3, 5, 5A, 8, 15,18 will take you within a short walk of both schools. At the bus station, you can buy a single ticket for kn9 (€1.20) or a return ticket, which costs double. Otherwise, pay in cash on the bus itself, where a single will cost kn11 (€1.50). For more details, see this network map, downloaded from the Promet website.
